Why is that in every anime when a character is sick doesnt feel well they look like their blushing?

because their face is flushed from being sick, probably having a fever.I get red around the cheeks sometimes when I'm sick too, and so do other people.Why is that in every anime when a character is sick doesnt feel well they look like their blushing?
It's to emphasize the fact that they have a fever. :)

because anime drawers suck and can't draw real looking characters.
